While most operators feature only one standard itinerary, our programs offer a variety of options to explore different regions of Mongolia, observe more of the country’s special bird species, and enjoy authentic local experiences — all with expert guidance and excellent value at a considerably lower cost than comparable international tours.
In addition to our main birding tour, we have planned several exciting extensions, including:
- Birding in Far Eastern Mongolia – Explore the vast steppes, wetlands, and lakes of eastern Mongolia, one of the country's richest birding regions. This tour offers excellent opportunities to see cranes, raptors, waders, and a wide variety of passerines, including Jankowski's Bunting, Yellow-throated Bunting, Tristram's Bunting, Siberian Blue Robin, Siberian Thrush, Yellow-rumped Flycatcher, Mongolian Short-toed Lark and White-throated Rock Thrush. The region is also an important migration corridor, where many other migrants can be encountered, with the exciting possibility of finding species new to Mongolia.
- Khurkh River Valley Extension – Visit one of Mongolia's premier birding hotspots, renowned for its diversity of cranes. The valley offers excellent chances to see Siberian Crane, Hooded Crane, White-naped Crane, Common Crane, and Demoiselle Crane, along with many other sought-after species, including Swinhoe's Snipe, Chinese Bush Warbler, Lanceolated Warbler, Chestnut-eared Bunting, Yellow-breasted Bunting, Brown-cheeked Rail, and Great Bustard.
